Captain Colin Cleary put on an excellent day at the Club yesterday. With the long awaited Summer weather finally arriving and the course in superb condition a very enjoyable day and evening was enjoyed by all. The Captain decided to play a Flag competition which to start with did confuse on or two! Leading after the morning round with the flag reaching the 18th was Jerry Cain who also performed very well with the barbecue during the evening. Overall victory though went to the ever popular Pocket Rocket Mike Callaghan who finish playing down the 19th whilst his playing partners headed to the bar. The Captain also made competitors note the number of putts taken during the round, Evesham’s best putter (so he always said) Brummie Insall was finally dethroned for although he only recorded 25 putts and was confident of victory he was beaten by John Cook with 24 and Steve Chiffins with an amazing 23 putts through 18 holes. Other winners were Longest Drive Mike Callaghan, Nearest the Pin Kevin Stewart, Nearest the Pin in the Copse Tony Smith.
The evening entertainment provide by the Captain along with a running barbecue was also a great successful with a full clubhouse and patio and members dancing and chatting the night away.
Well done Captain from all who attended on a great day.
