Ladies
This little gem of a Golf Course has a friendly Ladies Section, which has Tuesday as its Ladies Day, when Members take part in fun and serious competitions (Medals, Stablefords and a variety of Trophy Competitions). The Working ladies play their Medal/Stableford competitions at the weekend. The Competition Board looks very busy in the welcoming Ladies Room at the Club. At the end of the main competition season the Ladies have a Presentation Evening rounding off the evening with a Dinner provided by our superb Steward and Catering Staff.
The Ladies Section holds two Open Competitions each year, the Ladies AM-AM in July and a 3 Ball Alliance held in August. The Ladies also organise a Mixed Open during June and take part in many national prestigious competitions – the Daily Mail Foursomes, the Peugeot Coronation Foursomes, and many more.
We have a flourishing Bridge Section, (particularly when the weather is not quite so kind), along with 2 Charity Bridge Drives during the year.
The Droitwich League, for Handicaps of 21 and under, holds 5 matches during the season and there are 12 inter-club Friendlies for the higher handicappers – up to 36. Special Club nights are held on a Wednesday evening twice monthly throughout June, July and August; a 9 hole friendly competitions followed by Supper.
During the year there are 7 Mixed competitions mainly held at the Weekends, along with the Frank Vincent Trophy – Knockout Competition – played from May to September. The exception is the Midsummer Madness, not for the faint hearted – an early start of 4.30am finished off with Bucks Fizz and a Full English breakfast!
To complement the super Golf facilities the Club hosts many social events throughout the year, usually accompanied by wonderful food and great company.
The Club has vacancies for new lady members and anyone interested in taking up the game of golf, or joining EGC, should contact Jerry Cain (Secretary) on 01386 860395 or email the club via our contact page
