This weekend saw the Evesham Men’s Open event which attracted a large field of 89 players, a good proportion of which were visitors from other clubs. Weather conditions were variable to say the least but the eventual winner with an excellent 67 was Evesham Seniors Captain Mike Abraham. Mike was presented with the Claret Jug as befits an Open winner and also a reduction in his handicap from 15 to 13. Second place just one shot back was Mark Harrison who’s handicap was reduced a single shot to 13 and third on count back with 70 was Pete Wragg who also lost a shot and is now playing off 18. The day ran without a hitch which is testimony to the huge amount of time and effort put into the organisation of the event by James Attwood who was thanked by all in attendance. Evesham Golf Club would like to extend its grateful thanks to all the visitors who took the time and effort to join us on the day and we hope that it was as enjoyable for you as it was for us hosting you and we hope to see you again soon.
