LADIES SECTION ( comp details below)
This little gem of a Golf Course has a friendly Ladies' Section which has Tuesday as its Ladies' Day when members take part in fun and serious competitions (medals, stablefords, and a variety of cup competitions). The working ladies play their medal/stableford competitions at the weekend. The competition board looks very busy in the welcoming Ladies' Room at the Golf Club. At the end of the season, in November, the ladies have a presentation evening which is followed by an enjoyable meal prepared by the Club's very able catering staff.
The Ladies' Section holds two Open Competitions each year, being the Ladies' Open, in August and the AMAM in September. The ladies compete in the Mail on Sunday, The Daily Mail Foursomes, The Tunisian Salver (Douglas Bader) (all being National Competitions), 5 Droitwich League matches for the lower handicaps, 12 friendly matches for the higher handicaps, roll-ups on Thursday mornings, and a flourishing Bridge Section (particularly when the weather is not quite so kind!).
During the year the Club holds mixed competitions including the Douglas Bader Cup, Whitehouse Cups (Spring and Autumn), Spring and Autumn Triads, an AMAM Competition, a Midsummer Madness competition followed by a wonderful full English Breakfast and Bucks Fizz (4.30 a.m. for the early birds!), an excellent Christmas competition and a Mixed Open (in June).
The Club has vacancies for new lady members and anyone interested in taking up the game of golf should contact Jerry Cain (Secretary) on 01386 860395 or email the club on eveshamgolf@btopenworld.com
