Junior Night starts Tuesday 14th April 2009
Meet up at 5.00pm and Dan & Colin will organise coaching and playing on the course.
Junior members can bring a friend if they want!
Coaching will run from 5.00pm to 6.00pm on the practice ground. The more able juniors who wish to play on the course will have priority over adult members between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. Adult volunteers will be available to accompany junior members on the course if required.
From the beginning of May, why not have your tea in the clubhouse afterwards. Excellent food at very reasonably prices is available. See Mrs Byrne behind the bar for the menu!
Saturday Mornings
Dan continues to run group coaching sessions on Saturday mornings from 10.00am to 11.00am. All are welcome and again you can bring a friend.
“Our aim is to provide something for everyone, from the complete beginner to the more able golfers. Dan will be providing his usual high standard of professional coaching and the junior committee will be arranging competitions, matches and junior nights throughout the year. All juniors will have an opportunity to improve their game in a safe, friendly and fun environment."
Evesham's Junior Section is entering exciting times.
We have recently registered with the Golf Foundation. This is the organisation dedicated to developing Junior golf across the country.
We shall be using the Junior Golf Passport coaching structure to bring the Junior golfers through from beginners to future club champions.
Also, in conjunction with this we are also registered with the National Skills Challenge. This involves a series of challenges aimed to improve each area of the golfers abilities, while still keeping the most important factor to Junior golf - FUN!

The coaching sessions are as follows:
Saturday mornings 10.00 - 11.00
Tuesday evenings (during BST) 17.00 - 18.00
Tuition fee is £3.00 per child
During the summer months we will be holding several competitions, including 6 hole games to allow the younger members to achieve their first handicap.

GOLF MARK ACCREDITATION FOR EVESHAM
The EGU have established GOLF MARK as a standard for the management of junior golfers and have actively been pushing all golf clubs to registerand be trained for accreditation.
Effective 17th April 2009, Evesham Golf Club has been awarded full accreditation and becomes the 15th Worcestershire Amateur Golf association member to gain this recognition.
We now have qualified personnel within the Club who can mentor junior golfers and address any queries arising from their playing golf at Evesham.
An award ceremony took place on Tuesday 5th May, when Sharon Heely, the EGU Regional Development Officer, presented the Golf Mark certificate at the normal Tuesday evening Junior Night.
The club wishes to thank John Vaughan, Jean Bevan and all members who have worked very hard to enable us to reach this standard, another step in putting EGC on the Worcestershire Union map!
