Around 50 members gathered in the clubhouse for the annual presentation evening to enjoy an evening of fine food, great entertainment and a large measure of friendly banter.
Following an excellent three course meal, provided by our in-house chef Neil and his team, the main part of the evening celebrations took place with the presentation of the 2022 season prizes. Unfortunately, not everyone who won a competition could be in attendance but all those who did receive their trophies did so to much applause and good-natured heckling. Nick Webb was crowned club champion and looming large in the proceedings, picking up no less than three trophies, was Andy Cottrill. One of the biggest cheers of the evening went to Chris Cave and Rich Marshall as they received the Winter League wooden spoon.
Once the presentations were over and everyone had the chance to recharge their glasses, we were treated to an excellent performance by Lee Roberts, ex-rugby league player and sports circuit comedian. His routine was superb and really hit the spot with everyone in the room.
Once the events of the night were over, the majority retired to the bar for more chat, anecdotes and golfing stories of what might have been. All agreed that it had been a magnificent evening which typified the atmosphere and camaraderie that makes Evesham Golf Club the friendly club that it is.
