Speake Cleans up in Roger Knight

67 players gathered at Evesham Golf Club on Saturday 29th of April to contest the Roger Knight Medal cup and PGA Qualifier. With course conditions continuing to prove difficult, despite  the fine weather scoring proved to be difficult with only 2 players scoring below the course par of 72.

Division 2 saw Matt Langmead secure 3rd with a net 75, pipped for 2nd place by Ian Tyrrell with a fine 74. However the winner of division 2 was Nick Turner with an excellent 72.

In Division 1 Club Finance Director Chris Jewkes  kept out of the river for an excellent Gross 85/Net 72 for 3rd place. Adrian Witts shot a similarly impressive round of net 71. However the winner of Division 1, and the Roger Knight Cup was the ever popular Grantham Speake with an outstanding Gross 84/Nett 70. Grantham in Evesham Golf Club tradition returned to receive his trophy from Captain Sharpe. Grantham also qualifies to play with Club Professional Rob Steele  in the regional PGA Qualifier for a chance to progress to the Grand Final in Turkey later in the year, and takes an early lead in the Fladbury Links Order of Merit.
