On Saturday the 26th of August Craycombe Links welcomed golfers to the annual contest for the The Pete Callaghan Trophy. Donated by his two golfing son’s Michael and Paul the trophy honours the memory of their late father who was a highly regraded member of the club for many years. A packed field lined up with the early morning starters setting the pace. Despite the testing conditions scoring was the best of the year with 17 golfers scoring 36 points or better. With 6 prizes on offer count back played a major part in determining the results :
6th – Alex Tullett- 40
5th – Nick Webb – 40
4th – John Richards – 40
3rd Andrew Witts – 41
2nd – Michael Callaghan – 41
However winning with a fabulous score of 44 points was Laurie Keen . Congratulations to Laurie who is pictured below receiving his trophy from the two Callaghan brothers at the post competition presentation.
